The creators of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) recently released a Policy Brief, Effective Teacher-Student Interactions. Research shows that to improve children’s academic achievement and social skills, we must focus on how teachers instruct and relate to children.
Developed by Robert C. Pianta, Dean of the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia, CLASS is an observational instrument that captures the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms from PreK through Grade 3 (PreK-3rd).
