FCD seeks a strategic, detail-oriented, and collaborative Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as a senior thought partner to the President and lead internal operations, including finance, HR, IT, grants management, and administration.
This is a pivotal leadership role with broad authority and influence across the organization. The COO will lead efforts to modernize infrastructure, strengthen internal processes, and support a learning culture while ensuring operational excellence. The new COO will join at a time of organizational renewal, with the opportunity to shape how FCD functions and delivers on its ambitious vision. This role calls for a systems thinker, a proactive problem solver, a team builder, and a strategic partner to help steer the Foundation through change and growth. In the first year, key priorities will include evaluating and selecting new vendors — such as the insurance broker and PEO — reviewing employee benefits and making timely recommendations, and, likely in the second year, leading the assessment and upgrade of the grants management system. The COO will be empowered to drive change, streamline operations, and position FCD for long-term success.
A member of the Executive leadership team, the COO will collaborate closely with the President and the VP of Programs and Communications, who constitute the leadership team, and will manage an Operations Manager and several outside vendors and consultants.
