The Foundation for Child Development (FCD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Berlin to the role of Senior Communications Officer.
Ryan is a communications and engagement strategist with more than 15 years of experience advancing nonprofit and social impact work. As Senior Communications Officer at the Foundation for Child Development, she will partner closely with Foundation leadership to translate complex research, policy, and movement priorities into clear, compelling messaging that elevates national conversations on behalf of young children and their families. Ryan’s background in marketing, event management, and network building informs her approach to communications as a tool for connection, learning, and advocacy.
Prior to accepting this position, Ryan contributed to the mission of FCD as a communications and event consultant since late 2023. As an independent consultant (2018 – 2026), Ryan also worked nationally on a wide variety of projects with The Learning Agenda, convening client stakeholders, supporting school leaders, and providing strategic guidance on the development of evidence-based summer learning programs. Locally, Ryan managed a number of celebratory events for youth and community focused nonprofits.
Before becoming an independent consultant, Ryan spent a decade (2010 – 2019) planning large-scale national events and supporting marketing and development efforts for the National Summer Learning Association.
Ryan is based in Towson, Maryland where she lives with her family and spends her free time as a youth soccer coach, lacrosse spectator, and theater mom. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from George Mason University.
